About myself
Welcome to WIKMAN TRANSLATIONS!
My name is Veronica Wikman. I am a native Swedish linguist and freelance translator, living in Edinburgh since 1997.
In 1999, having gained a number of years of valuable experience as a translator and documentation administrator with an automotive engineering firm in Sweden, and as an in-house translator and translation coordinator in the software localisation industry in Britain, I decided to embark on a career as a freelance translator. I've been running my own business, WIKMAN TRANSLATIONS, specialising in translations from English into Swedish, since 1999.
My academic qualifications include a B.A. degree in English from Lund University and a Diploma in Library and Information Studies from Borås College University, Sweden.
Over the years I have translated various types of documentation such as user guides, operator manuals, safety guides, installation manuals, reference guides, newsletters, product brochures, help files and website contents, as well as localising and carrying out linguistic testing of software.
I take great pride in my work.
In order to maintain full quality control over the project, whether it's a translation, proof-reading, editing or other assignment, I never subcontract anything. Every job that I take on is carried out exclusively by myself, from start to finish. I don’t accept assignments that are outside the constraints of my time or expertise, therefore I can guarantee that the delivered product will always be of high quality and delivered on time.
